Susan Marie Kirkham, 68, of Batesville, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on April 25, 1957 as the daughter of Robert Sr. and Minnie Belle (Kittle) Gridley.
She worked for many years in assembly at Romweber Furniture and later at Schmidt’s Bakery, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. In her free time, she enjoyed camping and riding the ranger, embracing the outdoors with a sense of adventure. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and especially loved her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Susan is survived by her husband, Steven Kirkham; children: Anthony Wilson, Melissa (Bo) Ramey, Kevin Cheek, Kayla (Matthew) Kruthaupt, Steph (Cory) Bischoff, Jessica Mullins, and Steven Kirkham II; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Runita Gridley-Thomas and brothers: Wesley “Scott” Gridley and Robert Gridley Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Allen Gridley.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held following visitation at 7:00 pm with Rob Edwards officiating all at Meyers Funeral Home.
