Storybook garden officially opens

Batesville, IN The Batesville Memorial Public Library Reading Garden is now officially open to the public. Several community members joined officials from the library to join in the official Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting Saturday morning.

The garden features 11 native Indiana trees, a hummingbird and butterfly garden, and many benches to enjoy a good book outdoors.  If you prefer to read on an electronic device, don’t fret, as there is free wi-fi available in the garden as well.  Library Board President Mark Stenger stated, “This is our attempt to beautify and offer more services to our patrons.  We wanted to create a green space where people could grab a book, grab lunch, or just sit and enjoy the beautiful weather while on the library campus.”
