Batesville, In. — As Storm recovery operations continue in Indiana and Ohio, officials from the National Weather Service have confirmed multiple tornados on Monday evening.
The strongest in Indiana was an EF-2 in the Pendleton area. As of 6 p.m. Tuesday Pendleton had reopened from State Road 67 to Pendleton Avenue. The city remains closed from Pendleton Avenue to Fall Creek Boulevard.
Officials recommend making cash donations to those who want to help. Madison County Emergency Management director Todd Harmeson says until the city resumes normal operations, potential volunteers are asked to stay away until given the all clear. Pendleton Heights High School has been designated as a shelter for storm victims.
In Ohio, clean up continues across the Miami Valley. Officials have confirmed at least four tornados, a reported EF-3 in Celina killed an 81-year-old man.
