State Supreme Court will not hear second challenge to Indiana abortion law

Indianapolis, IN — The Indiana Supreme Court will not hear a second challenge to the state’s near-total abortion ban.

The ACLU filed suit on behalf of people of several faiths who say the new law banning nearly all abortions in the state infringes on their religious freedoms.

As the result of a lower court judge’s ruling, the case will now have to go to the Indiana Court of Appeals before reaching the state Supreme Court.

The High Court already heard arguments in a separate case against the abortion law.
