St. Louis 8th Grade Boys Basketball vs Greendale

The St. Louis 8th Grade Boys Basketball team improved to 15-2 on the season with a 37-36 overtime thriller versus Greendale. The Cardinals came out strong in the first quarter trading baskets with Greendale on their way to a 8-7 first quarter lead. Greendale then went on a 15-5 run to take a 22-13 halftime lead. The Cardinals started to chip away at the in the third quarter cutting it to 6 points before tying the game late in the 4th. St. Louis held for the last shot but it bounced off the rim to force overtime. In overtime St. Louis was able to grab its first lead and hold on to the one point victory avenging a loss to Greendale earlier in the season.

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Luke Richardson with 16 points. Ryan McGuire had 10 points, Cam Anderson had 9 points, and Hunter Young added 2 points.
This was also 8th Grade night for the team. I would like to thank Amanda Jennings, John Jennings, Mari Mause, Liz Leising, and all the others that helped put this together. I would like to thank the parents who have brought these kids to practice and games for the past 4 years. I want to thank Patty Mauer and Mike Burkhart for allowing me to coach these young men. Finally I want to thank the players. It has truly been an honor to be your coach and to watch you all grow over the past 4 years. Thank you for allowing me to be your coach, but we have work left to do!
