Milan, IN – The St. Louis Cardinals 7th and 8th grade basketball travelled to Milan on Monday night to take on the Indians. Both teams found success on both ends of the floor and it showed.
To tip off the night, the 7th grade Cardinals started the game off solid, hounding the Indians on defense, making points hard to come by. Their unselfish play on offense along with the all-around defensive effort ultimately led to a sound victory.
The Cardinals’ balanced scoring attack was led by Brock Scheibler, Evan Jennings, and Cam Walke all with 8 points each. Mason Leising and Landon Beiser each chipped in 2 points as well.
The Cardinals easily handle the home team Indians, final score 28-8.
The 8th grade kept the momentum going from the previous game, but not immediately. St. Louis found themselves down 10-4. After the first quarter, it was all Cardinals when they took a 17-16 lead at halftime. They sealed the game up behind a 16-4 run in the third quarter.
St. Louis’ scoring attack was lead by Ryan McGuire with 15, Hunter Young followed closely with 12 points. Jaxon Watson added 7 points, Cam Anderson had 5 and Grant Hartwell with 2 points.
The Cardinals capitalize on a huge second half run, defeating the Indians, 41-26.
