On Thursday night, the 6th-grade Lady Cardinals suffered a defeat at the hands of
St. Nicholas. The Lady Cardinals dug themselves into a hole in the first that was too much to overcome, but they never gave up. They displayed outstanding effort and showed tremendous grit the entire game. In the end, the girls were just outmanned.
The Lady Cardinals were led in scoring by Maci Smith and Bella Watson, with 6 points each. Solara Scheel chipped another 2 points as well. Alice Austin got several key rebounds. Ellie Weberding, Katie Hohenstein and Claire Baker all turned in tough defensive efforts.
The 6th grade Lady Cardinals will be in action again next Tuesday versus Mount Carmel. The game will tip immediately after the 5th grade game.
