St. Louis took two from Milan in boys middle school basketball last night. It was the Cardinals over the Indians 28-8 in the 7th grade game, while St. Louis won the 8th grade contest 41-26.

Coming up tonight in girls high school basketball, South Decatur pays a visit to South Ripley. Coverage begins around 7:15 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app. Elsewhere tonight, Greensburg is at Shelbyville and South Dearborn visits Madison.

Batesville boys’ basketball coach Aaron Garrett says a record 33 campers are signed up to participate in this weekend’s 10th annual Garrett’s Gang Basketball Camp. Although the Bulldog football team plays three hours away at Heritage Hills for a semi-state championship Friday night, Garrett says they will maintain the schedule for Saturday. He adds since they are short-handed some players, members of the Batesville girls’ basketball team will help out this year. The camp will take place between 11 and 1 Saturday in the Batesville High School Auxiliary Gym. You’re asked to enter through Door N.

Free agent righthanded pitcher Nick Martinez has accepted the Reds qualifying offer and will return for the 2025 season. The 34-year-old Martinez will pitch under a one-year, $21.05 million contract. In 42 games, including 10 starts, Martinez was 10-7 with a 3.10 ERA last year for the Reds.

Purdue is ranked 6th in this week’s AP Top 25 College Basketball poll. Kentucky holds down the 9th spot; Indiana is #16, and UC is ranked 18th. Kansas remains at #1, followed by UConn, Gonzaga, Auburn and Iowa State to round out the Top 5.

In the NBA, the Raptors beat the Pacers 130-119 last night in Toronto. Indiana falls to 6-8 while Toronto wins for just the third time this season against 12 losses.

And the Houston Texans routed the Dallas Cowboys 34-10 on Monday Night Football.
