Congratulations to Milan’s Noah Morgan and Gabe Riehle, Neil Sullivan from Jac-Cen-Del, and South Ripley’s Alexa Yeomans for taking top honors last week in their respective spring sports around the ORVC. Morgan and Sullivan are the Baseball Co-Players of the Week. The Indians’ Morgan had 10 hits, scored seven runs, drove in seven, collected two doubles, two stolen bases and a triple in five games. Sullivan pitched 11 innings, gave up six hits, three runs (one earned), walked three and struck out 15 in going 2-0 for the Eagles. Milan’s Riehle was the Co-Performer of the Week in Boys Track and Field after having the top time in the 200 (:23.08), setting a new school record in the 400 (:50.82), and netting the best distance in the Long Jump (19 feet 3 inches). The Raiders’ Yeomans set a new meet record in the High Hurdles (:14.80) and tied for the best height in the High Jump (5 feet). The Chicago White Sox doubled up the Reds 4-2 in front of a sold-out crowd on Pete Rose Night at Great American Ball Park in a game heard on WRBI. The slumping Reds have lost three in a row and 1o of their last 13 games. Cincinnati looks to avoid a sweep when the series wraps up this afternoon. Nick Martinez starts for the Reds and will be opposed by Bryse Wilson. Coverage on 103.9 FM begins following the Noon news block.
The NFL announced the 2025 schedule last evening. The Bengals open the regular season on September 7 at Cleveland, and will play four games in prime time. Cincinnati visits Denver on Sept. 29 for Monday Night Football; hosts Pittsburgh on October 16 on Thursday Night Football; visits Baltimore on Thanksgiving night, and goes to Miami on Dec. 21 for Sunday Night Football…The Colts kick off the season on Sept. 7 at home against Miami. They’ll take on Atlanta in Berlin Germany on Nov. 9, and will host San Francisco on Dec. 22 on Monday Night Football.
