The 115th annual IHSAA boys basketball tournament tips off tonight, and we have a doubleheader for you on the Sports Voice…

Batesville and Greensburg meet for the third and final time this year in the opener of Class 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn. Coverage begins at 5:30 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app…That will be followed by our coverage of Class 1A Sectional 60 play at Milan between Jac-Cen-Del and Trinity Lutheran.

In other first round games tonight involving area teams, Franklin County faces host South Dearborn in the 3A Sectional 29 nightcap…And North Decatur takes on Knightstown in Class 1A Sectional 59 at Edinburgh.

In 7th grade girls basketball last night, St. Mary’s held off St. Louis 30-22.

The Reds got past the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 in Cactus League exhibition action at Goodyear, Arizona heard last night on 103.9 WRBI. Cincinnati plays a split squad doubleheader. The Reds go up against the Colorado Rockies this afternoon in Scottsdale, and tonight will play the Los Angeles Dodgers in Glendale.

Auburn remains #1 for the eighth consecutive week in the latest AP Top 25 College Basketball poll. Duke is second, followed by Houston, Tennessee and Florida to round out the top five…

Purdue moves up two spots to #18 in this week’s rankings. The Boilermakers will be home tonight against Rutgers. Tipoff is at 7.

Indiana continues its western road trip tonight at Oregon. That contest in Eugene tips off at 9:00.

In the NFL, the Bengals have placed the franchise tag on wide receiver Tee Higgins for the second consecutive offseason. The team tendered Higgins a one-year deal in excess of $26 million after he caught a personal-best 10 touchdowns last season while playing on the tag. The Bengals have until July 15 to reach a multi-year deal with Higgins as he heads into his sixth season…

Cincinnati also waived veteran right guard Alex Cappa Monday in a salary cap move. Cappa spent the past three seasons with the Bengals and played right guard in all 50 regular season games he started.

Jimmy Johnson, the Pro Football Hall of Fame coach who won two Super Bowls and a college national championship, announced his retirement from Fox Sports on Monday. The 81-year-old Johnson had been a studio analyst on FOX NFL Sunday for most of the network’s 31-year run.
