Oldenburg Academy junior Nash King made the podium twice at Saturday’s IHSAA Swimming and Diving State Finals at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. King finished second in the state in the 200 Yard Individual Medley (1:47.23) and was third in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (49.74). Congratulations are also in order for other area competitors who took part in the state finals this weekend: seniors Tyler Williams and Joe Hawkins, plus sophomores Jack Bennett and Harrison Yu from Greensburg; Milan sophomore Seth Thomas, and East Central freshman diver Jackson McClain.

The Memphis Grizzlies dumped the Indiana Pacers 125-106 in NBA action heard yesterday on the Sports Voice. Indiana has now lost six in a row. Jarace Walker led the Blue and Gold with a game-high 21 points. The Pacers begin a four-game West Coast road trip Wednesday night in Los Angeles against the Clippers.

In college basketball yesterday, Ohio State upended #8 Purdue 82-74. The Boilermakers have dropped two straight, and three in a row to the Buckeyes. Braden Smith led visiting Purdue with 20 points, and Trey Kaufman-Renn added 19. With the loss, the Boilermakers fall to 22-7 overall and 12-6 in the Big TenAnd 13th-ranked Michigan State downed Indiana 77-64. The Hoosiers’ Lamar Wilkerson tossed in a game-high 29 points while Tucker DeVries added 20. IU dips to 17-12 overall and 8-10 in the Big Ten.

The Athletics hammered the Cincinnati Reds 12-4 in Cactus League baseball from Mesa, Arizona heard yesterday on the Sports Voice. The Reds host the Chicago Cubs this afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark. First pitch is at 3:05.

Alex Palou picked up where he left off and took the checkered flag at yesterday’s IndyCar season opening race in St. Petersburg, Florida. Palou wins the event for the second straight year. It’s his 20th career victory in just his 99th start on the circuit.
