The Reds knocked off the host Philadelphia Phillies 9-6 Friday afternoon in a game heard on WRBI. Cincinnati erupted for five runs in the 3rd inning and added two more in the 5th. Spencer Steer and Elly De La Cruz drove in two runs a piece on the afternoon. Steer and Tyler Stephenson both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Sam Moll got the win in relief. He’s 1-0 on the year. Emilio Pagan notched his 19th save. The middle game of the series is this afternoon. Lefty Nick Lodolo starts for Cincinnati against Phillies righthander Ranger Suarez. Before Friday’s game, the Reds activated infielder Noelvi Marte and pitcher Graham Ashcraft from the injured list. INF/OF Ryan Villade and pitcher Sam Benschoter were optioned to Triple-A Louisville. INF/OF Connor Joe is starting a rehab assignment with Louisville.
