Reds rookie pitcher Chase Burns struck out a career-high 10 hitters and gave up two earned runs on four hits and did not figure into the decision. Jake Bird got the win in relief for Colorado. Tony Santillan took the loss for Cincinnati. The Reds offense was led by Noelvi Marte was 2 for 3 at the plate with a home run, a double and an RBI. But the Reds as a team were 0 for 11 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base. The middle game of the series is this afternoon. Brady Singer gets the start for Cincinnati. The Indiana Fever topped the Atlanta Dream 99-82 last night in downtown Indianapolis. Kelsey Mitchell led the way for Indiana with 25 points. Sophie Cunningham had a double double – 16 points and 10 rebounds. With the win, the Fever evens its record at 10-10, and will host the Dallas Wings tomorrow afternoon.
IndyCar is back on an oval course this weekend at Iowa Speedway. They’ll drop the green flag tomorrow around 1:30.
