Oldenburg Academy got past Franklin County 43-40 in boys basketball Saturday afternoon on WRBI. The Twisters improve to 6-3; the Wildcats drop to 3-8. And South Decatur outlasted Shawe Memorial 57-52 in overtime. The Cougars are now 3-7.
In girls hoops action Saturday night on WRBI, Class 1A #6 Oldenburg grounded Jac-Cen-Del 64-20 in a game heard on the Sports Voice. The Twisters have won 13 in a row and are now 14-1 on the season…Elsewhere, South Decatur got past Henryville 39-36, and Triton Central topped Franklin County 62-55.

The Bengals were eliminated from the NFL playoffs last night when the Denver Broncos routed the Kansas City Chiefs 38-0. Cincinnati won their fifth straight game Saturday night in Pittsburgh and needed both the Broncos and the Miami Dolphins to lose on Sunday in order to make the postseason. Denver clinches the seventh and final spot in the AFC. The Bengals finish the 2024 season at 9-8.
The Colts outlasted the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-23 in overtime at Lucas Oil Stadium. Jonathan Taylor ran for 177 yards and a touchdown. Indianapolis ends the year at 8-9. Meanwhile, Colts owner Jim Irsay has decided to keep General Manager Chris Ballard and Head Coach Shane Steichen, despite the team missing the postseason and compiling a 17-17 record over the past two seasons. Irsay made the announcement on X Sunday night.
