Class 3A #1 Greensburg goes to 19-0 after knocking off Batesville 64-45 in girls basketball heard Saturday afternoon on WRBI. The Pirates are 6-0 in the EIAC while the Bulldogs drop to 14-8 overall and 4-3 in the conference. Batesville won the JV game 41-30.
Elsewhere, Franklin County bested Talawanda from nearby Oxford, Ohio 51-35…South Decatur edged Trinity Lutheran 54-50…and Lawrenceburg slid past North Decatur 40-37.
Batesville took down Connersville at the Spartan Bowl 61-33 in boys basketball Saturday night on the Sports Voice. The Bulldogs square their record at 7-7 overall and 2-2 in the EIAC. The Spartans won the JV contest 48-34.
In other action, Greensburg knocked off county rival South Decatur 65-40…East Central rallied to beat state line rival Harrison 49-46…Lawrenceburg grounded Jac-Cen-Del 64-45…and it was Northeastern over Franklin County 66-45.
Batesville wrestling traveled to Jennings County Saturday to compete in a three-way dual meet also involving Paoli. The Bulldogs came out strong and won both duals. Batesville improves to 11-10 with these two victories.

Maryland got past Indiana 79-78 in Big Ten college basketball yesterday at Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Hoosiers fall to 14-7 overall and 5-5 in Big Ten play.
The Philadelphia Eagles and two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs will meet in Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles clobbered Washington 55-23 in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday; and the Chiefs held off Buffalo 32-29 in the AFC. The game in New Orleans on February 9 will be a rematch of Super Bowl LVII two years ago – won by KC.
