Batesville hammered Rushville 11-nil in girls soccer last night. Addie Reding recorded the hat trick (three goals) while Hailee Weisenbach added two goals for the Bulldogs.

Connersville edged Batesville 3-2 in boys tennis. The Bulldogs’ Wes Peters won his #3 singles match, while Caleb Mohr and Lincoln Garrett took the win in #1 doubles. The BHS netters fall to 1-1.

Batesville cross country hosted a tri-meet with North and South Decatur. BHS won the girls meet with a perfect 15, North Decatur was second at 53 and South Decatur finished with 74. The Batesville boys posted a 21, the Chargers had 34 and the Cougars did have a full team.

South Decatur varsity volleyball beat Edinburgh in four sets. The Lancers took the first set 25-23, while the Cougars rattled off wins in the next three: 25-21, 25-7, 25-16.

The 2025 high school football season kicks off tonight and we have a pair of games for you on the Sports Voice. East Central visits Lawrenceburg in a battle of teams ranked in the top five of their respective classes’ preseason polls. The Reds open a three-game series tonight in Arizona against the Diamondbacks. We’ll join the game in progress on 103.9 FM following high school football.

The Indiana Fever plays the Minnesota Lynx in WNBA action tonight in downtown Indianapolis. Minnesota has the best record in the league at 28-6 and sits atop the Western Conference standings. The Fever is 19-16 and trying to stay in playoff contention. Tipoff is at 7:30.

The Indianapolis Colts visit the Cincinnati Bengals tomorrow in the final preseason game for both teams. Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Thursday that Anthony Richardson will not see any reps in the game, nor will Daniel Jones, who was just named the Week 1 starter at quarterback. Riley Leonard and Jason Bean will handle most of the quarterback duties tomorrow. Steichen says the team will also likely have Jaylon Jones and JuJu Brents back on defense for Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. Kickoff tomorrow in downtown Cincinnati is at 1 p.m.
