
The Batesville JV baseball team fell to New Palestine 12-2. Declan Meyer went 1-for-1 at the plate and drove in a run for the Bulldogs. Brody Rudolf, Eli Doll, and Max Meyer also collected a hit a piece. The Batesville JVs travel to Connersville tomorrow.
Batesville (159) boys golf picked up a pair of wins over Lawrenceburg (193) and Oldenburg Academy (Inc.) at Hidden Valley Golf Club. The Bulldogs’ Cooper Phebus earned medalist honors with a two-under-par 38.
The Cincinnati Reds came from behind to beat the Miami Marlins 6-3 in 10 innings in a game heard last night on WRBI. The Reds trailed 2-0 going into the 9th inning, with Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara looking to finish a complete game two-hitter. But the Reds tied the game to send it into extra innings. After Cincinnati snapped the 2-2 tie in the top of 10th on a Nathaniel Lowe single to center to score ghost runner Spencer Steer, Matt McClain broke it open with an RBI double to leftfield. McCain ignited the comeback with a one-out RBI double in the 9th, which was the first extra base hit Alcantara allowed all season. Emilio Pagan got the win in relief. The Reds are 5-0 on the road for the first time since 1990. They look to keep it going in game three of the series tonight. Brady Singer will start for Cincinnati. Airtime is 6:10 on 103.9 FM.
In the NBA, it was the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Indiana Pacers 124-104 in downtown Indianapolis last night. Ethan Thompson led Indiana with 17 points. The Pacers are back on the court tomorrow night at Brooklyn.
In NFL news, the Cincinnati Bengals have waived center Matt Lee. He was originally drafted as a seventh-round pick by the Bengals in 2024. Lee played in 22 games with one start for Cincinnati.
