Oldenburg Academy defeated #9 Greenwood Christian 5-4 in varsity baseball at Indianapolis Sports Park. The Twisters’ Jacob Stenger went 1-for-2 at the plate and drove in three.
Batesville Middle School golf remains undefeated after winning a three-way match at Hillcrest. It was the Bulldogs 174, Greensburg 196 and St. Mary’s 209. Batesville’s Stella Maple shot an even par 35 to take medalist honors. She also recorded a birdie on hole 6 and notched her first ever eagle on par 4 eight.
St. Louis traveled to Robin’s Nest Par 3 golf course last evening for a three-way match with North Decatur and South Dearborn. It was the Chargers 167, the Knights 169 and the Cardinals 173.
Both the Batesville boys and girls track teams won a five-way meet at Lawrenceburg with identical scores of 111. In the boys meet, Jennings County finished 2nd, followed by Switzerland County, the host Tigers, and Rising Sun. On the girls side, Switz was second, followed by Jennings County, Lawrenceburg and Rising Sun. Batesville had two school records broken and recorded 17 first places overall and nine runner-up finishes.
The Pacers topped the Milwaukee Bucks 123-115 in Game 2 of their NBA Eastern Conference quarterfinal series in downtown Indianapolis, as heard last night on WRBI. With the win, Indiana takes a two games to none lead heading into Friday night’s Game 3 in Milwaukee. Pascal Siakam led the Blue and Gold with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton added 21 points and 12 assists. Six players finished in double figures for Indiana. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis scored 62 of Milwaukee’s 115. Giannis had 34 points and 18 rebounds while Portis had 28 points and 12 boards.
The Marlins nipped the Reds 4-3 last night in Miami to clinch the series win. Cincinnati will try to avoid a sweep this afternoon when Brady Singer goes to the mound, looking to go improve to 4-0. The Marlins counter with Sandy Alcantara. Coverage on 103.9 FM begins at 12:40.
