Brookville, IN— New Mercies Community Services is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Southeastern Indiana REMC Operation Round-Up program. SEI-REMC invites its customers to “round up” their utility bills and then distributes the collected funds to non-profits in its service area. The grant to New Mercies was matched by the Franklin County Community Foundation, making it even more valuable.
The grant is being used to upgrade New Mercies’ kitchen equipment and to purchase fire extinguishers for the new location on Cliff Street in Brookville. The work is proceeding quickly with help from generous donors and volunteers.
