Softball recaps from Friday, April 22

The following are softball recaps from Friday, April 22. All are varsity games unless noted otherwise.  There may be updates, so please check back.

South Ripley defeated Jac-Cen-Del 8-3.

The Raiders Alexa Heidt tallied three hits with a double and four RBI.  Brooklyn Brown singled twice while Julia Hilton, Daylene Adams and Emily Campbell knocked in a run each.  Ellie Waldron pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts.

The Eagles actually outhit Ripley 9-8.  Collecting three hits for Jac was Maria Meyer.  Emalee Veercamp singled and doubled with an RBI and Bailey Groth accounted for the other ribbie.

In junior high softball, North Decatur crushed Morristown 24-9.

The Chargers amassed 10 runs in the first and 13 in the fourth.  Madison Rohls and Libby Crawford both had a trio of hits for ND.  Teammate Elizabeth Meister booked two.

Batesville fell to South Dearborn 5-0.  The Knights Kyra Labazzo threw a one hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

Labazzo also had two hits of her own at the plate.  Teammate Lakota Vincent had three hits with an RBI.  Emma Seaver drove in three runs and singled twice.

The Bulldogs only hit came from Maggie Wilson.  BHS catcher Emma Belter threw out three SD runners attempting to steal second.

Franklin County was a 17-1 victor over Northeastern.

KK Ferman pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts against two hits.  At the plate, she doubled and homered with three RBI.

Other offensive highlights for the Wildcats saw Maci Lake triple and single three times with two RBI.  Kensee Ferman drove in four runs on two doubles and two singles.  Brooke Stang and Bree Bishoff both booked two hits.  Bishoff also plated two runs.  Anne Becker also had a couple of RBI.

The Franklin County JV beat Shelbyville 8-2.

For the Cats, Hope Gardner tripled and homered with three RBI.  Annie Hoff doubled and tripled with a ribbie while Lillie Graf batted in three on a single and double.  Bella Lee struck out nine in the seven inning win.
