(Batesville, IN) – The Southeastern Indiana YMCA added Sheri Brougher and Robert Jester to its Board of Directors, effective January 2026.

Brougher is a lifelong Batesville resident with more than 25 years of connection to the YMCA, beginning in her high school years. She values the Y’s role in promoting healthy living and building strong, supportive communities.

She brings extensive professional experience in strategy, communications, and leadership. After spending 15 years in the financial services industry with Global Atlantic (formerly Forethought Life Insurance Company), she joined Margaret Mary Health in 2016 to further her passion for serving her community through healthcare. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Strategy & Communications, supporting organizational strategy and leading teams across human resources, marketing, the Health Foundation, and support services.

Brougher holds a degree in Management and Marketing from Purdue University and an MBA with a Healthcare Administration Certificate from the University of Cincinnati. Outside of work,
she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, being outdoors, and staying active through running and fitness—often setting personal goals that keep her challenged and focused.

Jester brings decades of professional leadership experience and a strong commitment to community service to his role on the Board. Originally from Muncie, he earned a degree in Food Science from Purdue University, launching a 35-year career in food manufacturing with Sara Lee Foods. Throughout his career, Jester held leadership roles in product development, quality, food safety, and manufacturing consistency, developing deep expertise across a wide range of food products.

After retiring in 2013, Jester and his wife, Sandi, chose Batesville as their home, drawn by its strong sense of community and proximity to family. Together, they have raised a blended family of five children and are proud grandparents to ten grandchildren. One of their first steps after relocating was joining the YMCA, where they found not only opportunities to support their health, but also meaningful community connections. The Y has played an important role in helping them build friendships and feel at home in their new community.

“We are excited to welcome Sheri and Robert to our Board of Directors,” said Tara Britton, Chief Executive Officer of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. “Each brings a unique perspective shaped
by years of leadership, service, and connection to our community. Their experience and passion will help guide our Y as we continue to grow our impact and serve our neighbors with care and
purpose.”
