Shirley Mae (Witte) Steiner

Shirley Mae (Witte) Steiner, 83, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021 in Aurora, Indiana.

She was born July 2, 1937 in Dearborn County, IN, daughter of the late Walter M. Witte and Dora (Andrews) Witte.

Shirley worked for Sprint Telephone Company for over 37 years. She started as an operator, moved on to the sanitation department, then to the warehouse and ended as a supply driver.

She was a lifetime member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she was also a Sunday School Teacher.

Shirley collected owls. She loved to travel, ride motor cycles, line dancing and yard work. Shirley really enjoyed breakfast with her McDonald’s friends. She loved her family and especially enjoyed time with her grandkids.

Shirley is survived by her children, Rodney C. (Karen) Steiner of Moores Hill, IN, LeAnn (Ken) Hall of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Kelli (Anthony) Jones, Ian Curry (Jessica Crabtree), Brennan Nickel (Samantha Ray), Breslin Nickel, Halle Berry, Roman (Alli) Steiner, Devin (Meghan) Steiner, Trevor Steiner (Kaylei Eldridge), Travis Steiner, Trent Steiner and Quinton Rowlett. great-granddaughter, Braelyn Freytag and a great grandson, Henry Jones, on the way; siblings, Arlene Hempleman of Rocklin, CA, Dorothy Jean Witte of Cincinnati, OH, sister in law, Johanna (late Wally) Witte and brother in law, Lonnie (late Henrietta) Hubbard; many nieces, nephews and cousins; caregiver, Curtis Nanney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Allan Steiner; siblings, Leon, Raymond, Owen and Wallace Witte, Henrietta Hubbard, Margie Witte, Catherine Droege.

Friends will be received Saturday, January 23, 2021, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 16393 St. Rd. #148, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the church at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
