Shelbyville woman killed on I-74

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — A Shelbyville woman was killed while walking on Interstate 74 late Wednesday night.

According to police, Laura Goode, 33, was found deceased in the roadway along with two vehicles that may have possibly struck her.

Emergency crews were called around 11:50 PM to mile marker 110 which is near the Indiana Grand Casino.

Police believe Goode was crossing I-74 when she was initially struck by a car driven by Rebecca Weightman of Waldron.

A second vehicle driven by Mark Collins of Shelbyville slid off into the median trying to avoid hitting Goode.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
