Sharon Suzzane Walterman, age 70 of Greensburg, Indiana passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. The daughter of John and Dorothy (Yorn) Swango was born on February 2, 1947 in Batesville. She graduated from New Point High School in 1965.
The dedicated Hill-Rom employee enjoyed her job and eventually retired from there after many years. Sharon was very active in her community. She served as the secretary for Crack Away Daze in New Point for 18 years. Sharon was also a member of the New Point Kiwanis. She and her husband, Paul loved volunteering as Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus each Christmas season. Sharon’s real passion though was traveling. It didn’t matter where she went she was always ready to go. She and her husband went many places, they especially liked going to Florida every year.
Sharon loved hummingbirds and especially butterflies. She planted flowers, a garden and hung out feeders to attract them both. Her home was full of everything butterfly too.
Sharon was just a people person and truly loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by many.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Paul Walterman; children and step children, Pam Mitchell (Jerry) of Verona, KY, Brenda Zembrodt (Michael) of Walton, KY, Brian Walterman (Alberta) of Greensburg and Reggie Davis (Tahonee) of Blanchester, OH; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Russell Swango.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 14th from 5-8pm with Funeral Services at 11:00am on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Mark Vice Officiating. Burial will follow in the Batesville Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu flowers, memorials may be given to Cancer Research c/o the funeral home.
