Sharon Rose Ison, 61, of Versailles passed away at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 8, 1962, the daughter of Curtis and Betty Alexander Turner. She was married to Russell Ison, Sr. on April 5, 2008 and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2023. Survivors include one daughter Terra (Shane) Babbitt of Theodore, Alabama; one son Dalton Braley of Milan; step-children Ca Trina (Brett) Trenkamp of Dillsboro, Robyn (Marvin) Gilbert of Moores Hill, Rusty Jr. (Kady) Ison of Milan, and Jared (Samantha) Ison of Aurora; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; four brothers Curtis Turner, Jr., Tony (Susan) Turner, Tommy (Teresa) Turner, and Eddie (Katie) Turner; one sister Susie (Herman )Dorn; also her extended family, Kristy (Austin) King of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Ison was a 1979 graduate of Ross (Ohio) High School. She was a former employee of Madison Tool & Die and had worked as an office manager at Ohio Rod in Versailles for over 25 years. She enjoyed her horses and horseback riding along with camping, and loved going to the beach. Sharon was a member of the Shelby Christian Church and attended the Christ Community Church at Butlerville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3 at 12 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Tim Heim officiating. Visitation will be on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Graveside services will also be on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the New London Cemetery in Shandon, Ohio. Memorials may be given to the Hoosier Back Country Horsemen in care of the funeral home.
