The 7th Grade St. Louis Girls basketball team traveled to Jac Cen Del Monday night for the opening round of the SEI girls basketball tournament. The Lady Cardinals were able to come up with the win against the host Jac Cen Del Lady Eagles with a final score of 24 to 14.

St. Louis used a strong 2nd and 3rd quarter to open up a lead after falling behind in the first quarter 6 to 3.

Rachel Suttmann scored 15 of her game-high 16 points in those quarters. Bridget Lohmueller, Meg Ritter, Cora Roth & Isabel Imel added 2 points each. Paige Watters is credited with strong defense and pulling down some timely rebounds.

The St. Louis 8th Graders made the same trip to Jac Cen Del and were met by a very talented Lady Eagle team. The Lady Cardinals were no match for the Eagles and lost by a final score of 66 to 6.

The 7th-Grade Batesville Girls Basketball team finished their short season last night with a loss to Milan, 29-7.

The girls played good defense but struggled to make shots on the offensive end. Scoring. Ava Walsman-3, Grace Walter-4.

I am super proud of the girls’ effort this year and witnessed lots of improvement.  Good luck to the girls playing soccer this weekend in Gatlinburg, and Addilyn Froeling in the NASP State Archery Tournament.
