In the championship round of the SEI Junior High Girls Basketball Tournament hosted by Milan, Batesville’s seventh grade took home the trophy with a 48-22 victory over St. Louis.
The Bulldogs had a very balanced scoring attack. Sydney Campbell led with 10, Mimi Smith, Kaylin Kathman and Ella King all scored eight while Ellie Westerfeld added seven. Coach Ehrman’s team finished the year at 17-1.
St. Louis was led by Belle Young who booked a dozen points and Gina Grote had 10. Coach Young was quite proud of the team and said it was a fun group to be around.
And in the eighth grade final, Milan fell to Greendale 27-17. The Bengals Ava Labazzo (15) and Navaeh Tudor (10) accounted for 25 of the 27 Bengal points. The Indians got 12 from Emma Voss and five via Kaiya Rinear.
