SEI Middle School Basketball Tourney Results

Basketball HoopsBatesville 7th grade won the 1st round of the SEI Tournament by defeating South Ripley 47-15.

For Batesville, Trey Heidlage led all scorers with 15 points.  Cooper Williams added 7, Alex Westerfeld 6, Austin Siefert 5, Jordan Bradley 2, and Michael Ripperger 1.

BMS will be in action tomorrow night where they play Sunman Dearborn at South Ripley Junior High at 5:30.

Batesville 8th Graders avenged an early season loss to South Ripley by beating them in overtime in the 1st round of the SEI Tournament 44-40.

1Q – 11-10 SR; 2Q – 20-20; 3Q – 32-27 SR; 4Q – 40-40.

For Batesville, Jayden Beal hit the game winning 4-point play with 1.5 seconds left in overtime. The team showed tremendous effort and good execution committing only 5 turnovers.

Isaac Barker led the team with 17 points followed by Beal with 9, Tristian Lamppert with 7, Lane Westerfeld and Dylan Flannery with 4 each and Sam Wade with 3 points.

The St. Louis 7th Grade Cardinal Basketball Team defeated South Dearborn in the first round of the SEI Tournament by the score of 28-19.For STL, Robert Raver led the team in scoring. Robert Raver and Sam Giesting led the team in rebounds while Kevin Salatin and Nathan Eckstein led the team in steals. Nathan Eckstein came off the bench playing his best basketball of the year to help the Cardinals advance in the tournament.Submitted by STL Coach Dale Amrhein.

The St. Louis 8th grade boys basketball team lost their first round game of the SEI Tournament falling 39-10 to South Dearborn.

The Cardinals struggled to generate any offensive momentum against South Dearborn’s aggressive defense.  Will Harmeyer connected on two 3-point baskets in the second half and Stuart Lamping added the other 4 points.  Ridge Douglas played well defensively, creating a few South Dearborn turnovers.

The Cardinals play St. Nicholas in the Batesville Deanery CYO tournament this Sunday beginning at 12 Noon.
