School donates items for troops and local heros

St. Louis 8th grade students at Batesville Fire and Rescue

Batesville, IN — St. Louis Catholic School recently celebrated Catholic Schools Week (CSW). The theme for CSW was “Faith. Excellence. Service”. As a way to show service to others, the school and its families collected items the local VFW Auxiliary 3183 were in need of for troops. The school collected a plethora of items.

The materials were delivered to Patti Weberding, and with the help of other VFW members, she delivered the items to Camp Atterbury. Weberding is currently looking for names of local men and women who are serving overseas. If you know of anyone, please contact her or the local Batesville VFW.

During Catholic Schools Week, students and staff also honored first responders and community members. The 7th graders honored the Batesville police officers and Mayor Bettice with letters and Anabel’s Sweet Treats. The 8th graders delivered cards and treats to the Batesville firefighters and EMTs.
