Safe Passage brings awareness to teen dating violence

BATESVILLE, Ind. — February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

Dating violence is defined as the act of controlling and/or abusive behavior in a romantic relationship.

Often times it involves hurtful name-calling, slapping, and posting rumors on social media.

The Batesville High School Safe Passage Youth Council says those behaviors are not respectful and damaging to relationships.

The group wants to bring awareness to the issue in a healthy and fun environment with their third annual Winter Rose Dance on February 24 at the RomWeber Marketplace in Batesville.

The dance is $3.00 and is open to all high school students, not just Batesville students.
