Ruth M. Kunkel

Ruth M. Kunkel, 86, of Greensburg passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Morning Breeze Nursing Home.

Ruth was born on March 26, 1932 in Deer Park, Ohio, to Bernard and Clara (Ziegler) Harmeyer.

Ruth graduated from Oldenburg Academy in 1950.  Ruth was married to Clifford “Cliff” Kunkel on August 28, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2016.

Ruth was a homemaker and along with her husband, Cliff, she owned and operated the St. Paul Tavern for almost 30 years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg, the Daughters of Isabella, and the St. Lawrence Ladies Auxiliary both in Greensburg.

Ruth is survived by 4 sons; Gary Kunkel, Greensburg, Rick (Molly Plank) Kunkel, Tennessee, David Kunkel, and Mark (Denise Gaboury) Kunkel, both of Ft. Myers, FL, 3 daughters; Carol (Charles) Kramer, Greensburg, Lynne (Phil) Miller and Angie (Ron) Wood, both of Batesville, brother; Ralph (Bernice) Harmeyer, Batesville, sister-in-law; Margie Harmeyer, Batesville, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Cliff, and brother; Ronald Harmeyer.

Visitation will be at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10 from 2-6 pm. with a Rosary starting at 1:30 pm.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, March 11 at 10 am with Rev. John Meyer officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Batesville.
