Rosemary J. Moton, 76

Rosemary Jean (Snyder) Moton passed away in the evening of Sunday, March 10, 2024.  Rosemary (76) was born on September 26, 1947, to Julia (Hoff) and Edward Snyder.  She is the mother of John Moton, Batesville and Luke (Chloe) Moton, Greenwood.

After graduating from New Palestine High School in 1965, Rosemary pursued a business degree at then Ball State Teachers College and graduated from the University in 1969.

Rosemary led a life of service, as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines, stay-at-home mother for a decade and for over a quarter century with the Batesville Community School Corporation as a teachers aid, English tutor, high school athletic secretary and extra curricular treasurer.

Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She loved dogs and horses, puzzles, knitting and baking “Bonnie Butter Cakes” for birthdays.  She especially enjoyed one-on-one time with her granddaughter Eva, attending her games and school performances.

Rosemary was a past president of the Batesville Parent Teacher Organization, managed concessions for the Batesville Little League, was a member of the Batesville Athletic Boosters and was an enthusiastic Bulldog fan, the Alpha Omicron Pi fraternal organization and its Ball State University Kappa Kappa chapter, a supporter of Wabash College, an avid Republican volunteer and was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, Indiana.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Julia and Edward, along with her brothers, James (Marsha), Richard (Katherine) and Robert.

Rosemary is survived by her sons, John and Luke (Chloe), granddaughter, Eva, sister-in-law Nancy Snyder, and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 14th from 4-7p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 IN-46, Batesville, Indiana 47006, on and on Friday morning from 10a.m. until time of the service at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 West 300 South, New Palestine, Indiana 46163.  Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on  Friday, March 15th at Zion Lutheran Church. Christian burial will follow in the church cemetery. with Rev. Jason Taylor officiating.

Memorials made be given to Zion Lutheran Church or the BHS Athletic Department by bringing to the services or mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
