
Ronald ‘Ron’ Bruns, age 83, of Brookville, Indiana died Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana, following a lengthy illness.
Born March 27, 1942 in Brookville, Indiana he was the son of the late Ambrose ‘Tim’ & Edna Bruns. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was united in marriage to the former Bonnie Meyer on October 5, 1963, and she survives.
Ron was a farmer and had farmed in Franklin County for much of his life, he had also driven a school bus for the Franklin County Community School Corporation for over 40 years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #1010 of Brookville, as well as the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion. In his leisure time he enjoyed being with family and friends, as well as tinkering on his farm.
Besides Bonnie, his loving wife of over 62 years, survivors include three daughters, Kim (Jim) Verkley of Cedar Grove, Indiana, Michelle (Randy) Riedman of Brookville, Indiana and Tina (Kevin) Jackson of Liberty, Indiana; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Glen) Stang of Brookville, Indiana and Linda Worm of Chaska, Minnesota; two brothers, Cecil (Paula) Bruns and Ivan (Joyce) Bruns all of Brookville, Indiana, as well as many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jane Selm and two brothers, David Bruns and Lester (JoeAnn) Bruns, as well as a brother-in-law, Jim Worm.
Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Vincent Lampert will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 16, 2026 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 E. St. Michael’s Blvd, Brookville. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville.
