Ronald Nicholas Miller, age 47 of Sunman

Ronald Nicholas Miller, of Sunman, was born on May 22, 1978, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the cherished son of Nancy and William Fay. A graduate of East Central High School, Ronnie later joined the Ironworkers Local 44 where he continued his education through the union with Ivy Tech Community College, where he earned an associate’s degree. He was a proud father to three children: Lane, James, and Izabella.

Ronnie had a passion for ironworking, metal fabrication, and welding. He loved spending time outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, or shooting — and had a special fondness for anything with a motor that went fast, from trucks to motorcycles. You could always tell when he was coming or going by the sound of his exhaust, always in a hurry and keeping the pedal to the floor. Every vehicle he owned had to be stripped down and rebuilt; it wasn’t truly his until he customized it to his liking. Some might say he was skilled at starting projects he never quite finished, often ending up with a bowl full of extra nuts and bolts he couldn’t place. He was particular about his appearance, especially his beard — and wasn’t shy about critiquing others’, including his brother Mike’s.

Above all, Ronnie cherished every moment with his children. He would drop anything for the chance to spend another second with them. Though not known as an early riser, he would be up at the crack of dawn if it meant being with his kids.

On Friday, December 5th, 2025, at the age of 47, Ronnie passed away at home.

Those surviving who will cherish Ronnie’s memory include his three children, Lane, James and Izabella Miller; his mother, Nancy Fay; siblings, Shannon (Ryan) Schorsch and Michael (Holly) Miller; as well as his nieces and nephews, Emma, Meredith, Tessa, Ryder, Hannah, Alisha, and Logan. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, William Fay; grandparents, Jane Bommer, Norman Schaft, James Fay and Billy Ann Fay; as well as one uncle, Brian Schaft.
