Robert W. McAuliffe, 91, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Silver Oaks Nursing Home in Columbus.
Born, November 17, 1925 in Shelbyville, Indiana, he was the son of Charles P. and Zella (Thompson) McAuliffe.
Robert had worked as a communications engineer for Teletronics in the Westport and Greensburg area until his retirement in 1995.
He served in the Navy in WW II and was stationed in Hawaii in radio communications. Robert had many hobbies, including building airplanes and flying them in competitions, archery where he won several competitions. He was a horse handler for his daughter when she showed horses. He was a ham radio operator, building his own ham radio.
He was married to Michelle McCullough on December 27, 1975 and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Karen (Bill) McCart, Columbus, Lucinda (Jim) Bray, Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Jean McAuliffe.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 11:00 a.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment will be held in the Westport Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur County Animal Shelter in Greensburg.
