Robert J. Schoettmer, 89, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Born, June 21, 1931 in Millhousen, Indiana, he was the son of Joseph Schoettmer and Frances (Thewes) Kuntz. Bob served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from Marsh Supermarkets after 45 years.  He was the manager of the Greensburg store for over 30 years. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, American Legion, and VFW. He was very active member of St. Mary’s Church and he was a bell ringer many years for the Cheer Fund. He was married to Kathryn M. Meyer at St. Mary’s Church Greensburg, on October 30, 1954 and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2018. He is survived by his children: Gary & Heather Schoettmer, Beavercreek, Ohio, Keith & Darla Schoettmer, Tipton, Indiana, Kathy Schoettmer, Westfield, Indiana, Mark & Holly Schoettmer, Indianapolis; daughter in law, Sallie Schoettmer, Troy, Ohio; Grandchildren: Benjamin, Daniel, Jason, Amanda, Sarah, Brianna, Gloria and Francine Schoettmer, Emily Sentman, Kristin Flora, Kelli Sears; thirteen Great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Joseph Kuntz; six brothers, Raymond, Alfred, Lawrence, Edward, Leonard, and Anthony Schoettmer; three sisters, Marie Herbert, Lorina Krieger, and Dorothy Redelman. While observing CDC and state guidelines for social distancing and required facial coverings, family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow until the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment with military graveside services will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg.
