Robert Anthony Melia, age 85 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at St. Andrews Health Campus. Born on July 24, 1934 to Mr. & Mrs. Harold Melia. Bob was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton, OH and the University of Dayton.
Bob retired from Batesville Casket Company where he worked as an industrial engineer, and traveled to all 8 plants over the years. He was a member of the Batesville United Methodist Church where he had served on the endowment committee. Those who knew Bob knew of his love for Corvettes. He spent many beautiful afternoons cruising in his prize cars. Like so many, he was an avid Notre Dame fan tuning in and rooting on his favorite team. Bob and his wife shared a love for children as supporters of various children’s programs through the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi; children, Donna Melia, Tom Melia and Bill Delaney; and grandchildren Anthony Pemberton and Alexis Delaney.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Hal, Lou and Paul Melia.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 2-3pm with 3:00pm Memorial Service immediately following all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, IN. Rev. Charles Flory officiating.
