Ripley County rollover crash injures two

Ripley County, In. — The Ripley County Sheriff’s Department says a local man was injured in a crash after taking evasive action to avoid a crash.

On Thursday, May 17 at 6:20 p.m. Michael Carf was driving a truck owned by Holman Excavating southbound on U.S. 421 near the intersection of County Road 100N when a northbound red passenger car crossed the centerline. Carf drove off the right side of the road to avoid a collision and rolled at least three times.

Carf was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck. Reports indicate Carf suffered a dislocated shoulder in the crash. His passenger, Andrew Dean Sullivan was transported to Margaret Mary Health, then to University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses told police they did not see the red passenger car.

Crews also had to clean up about 50 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled from a tank on the truck.
