(Ripley County, IN) – A Ripley County man is behind bars, charged with two counts of rape and two counts of incest in Kentucky following an investigation by detectives from the Indiana State Police Versailles Post.
ISP says the investigation began in February when suspected criminal activity was reported to troopers.
The investigation determined that 42-year-old Joel Stoltzfus of Holton allegedly committed rape and incest on at least two occasions between 2005 and 2008 in Christian County, Kentucky.
The victim was a juvenile at the time.
Since the alleged crimes took place in the Commonwealth, ISP investigators contacted Kentucky State Police detectives who submitted the case to Christian County prosecutors.
A warrant was issued on August 7 and Stoltzfus was arrested last Thursday in Ripley County on two counts of rape and two counts of incest.
He is in the Ripley County Jail while awaiting extradition to the Bluegrass State.
