Napoleon, In. — Artwork from past and present Ripley County artists has been collected throughout the county and will be displayed at the Central House in Napoleon. The Grand Opening for the Ripley County Bicentennial Art Show will be Saturday, March 17 from 4-9pm.
The Art Show will continue at the Central House from 1-5pm on Sunday, March 18; Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25; Saturday, March 31; and Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8. The public is encouraged to stop by the free exhibit to see the work by Ripley County’s talented artists such as Phyllis Miller, Lois Thompson, and Ursula “Sula” Spencer from the past, current local artists Debi Black and Bonnie Hertel, and internationally known artist Nancie Scott Davis, among others. Davis will have art on display never before viewed by the public.
Sunday, April 15, the Art Show will be set up at the Ripley County Fairgrounds in Osgood during the Ripley County Bicentennial Celebration from 1-5pm, organized by the Ripley County Tourism Bureau. Other activities at the fairgrounds that afternoon include music performed by area high schools; a Taste of Ripley County featuring samples that can be purchased from several county restaurants; Wine Tasting from Ertel Cellars Winery and Beer Tasting from Lil’ Charlie’s Restaurant and Brewery; a display by the Ripley County Homemakers; displays by the F.A.R.M. Club; demonstrations by the Southeastern Indiana Wood Turners; booths of items made in Ripley County; and several presentations. A children’s activity center will also be set up by the Kids Discovery Factory.

The Bicentennial Art Show is sponsored by the Ye Old Central House not-for-profit and organized by Victor Sarringhaus of Batesville. The Central House has undergone recent renovations, including new floors in the kitchen and dining rooms, and soon additional repairs will be made.
New activities have been scheduled at the Central House, including:

- Murder/mystery dinner – October 19-20
