Rickie Ray Wainscott, 72, of East Enterprise, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood Hospital. Rickie was born in Milan, IN on January 30, 1952, a son of the late Wanda Marie (Gulley) Wainscott and Marion W. “Bill” Wainscott. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1970. Shortly after graduation, he began work in the maintenance department at the Indiana Michigan Power plant in Lawrenceburg, IN. Rick worked there for over 37 years until his retirement in 2007. Rick had a wide array of interests and hobbies. He had an admiration for classic BMW motorcycles and had collected and expertly restored several bikes over the years. Rick was a skilled mechanic and also restored vintage tractors and Jeeps. Rick also enjoyed collecting guns and had acquired many unique firearms. His other interests included antiques, music, flying, history, religion and many other topics he was always ready to have an engaging conversation about. Rick was known for his dry wit and sense of humor. He was a beloved dad, grandpa, brother, cousin, and good friend to many.
Rickie is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Rae Lagoy, and husband Chris, of Russell, MA; by four grandchildren: Morgan Cloutier, Madison Cloutier, Max Cloutier and Wyatt Lagoy; by his sister, Brenda Wainscott, of Greendale, IN and by many cousins, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his infant brother Kenneth Wainscott.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 13th. 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 5911 SR 350 Aurora, IN 47001. Public Visitation will be held 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, April 12th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, IN.
