Richard W. Fischer, 81

Richard W. Fischer, 81, Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born, October 3, 1934 in Batesville, Indiana, he was the son of Bernard F. and Esther M. (Thiel) Fischer.
Richard attended St. Louis Catholic School and Batesville High School. He then served in the US Army for two years (1957-59) at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.
He had retired from Delta Faucet Co. after 41 years. He also had worked at the Club 46 Roller Rink and was a bartender at the Greensburg Country Club, the Greensburg Knights of Columbus, and he bartended for many wedding receptions.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Wyaloosing Creek Golf Course. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years and served as an usher at church. He enjoyed family, friends, golf, travel, bowling, and watching television.
He was married to Elizabeth Ann Horner on March 2, 1957 and she preceded him in death on August 21, 1987.
He is survived by four sons, Richard (Bonnie) Fischer, Timothy Fischer, Dave (Melissa) Fischer, Gary (Sharon) Fischer; two daughters, Connie (Jerry) Kinker, Krista (Sean) Bower; one sister, Marian E. Sutton; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his long time companion, Mila Laudick and her children, Linda (John) Humpert, Denny (Heidi) Laudick, Julie Himes, Jane Eckert; her 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, identical twin brother, Robert L. Fischer; brother, James F. Fischer; two sisters, Rita J. Saler, Lillian T. Rosiello; Mila’s son, Rick Laudick.
Family and friends will gather at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow the rosary until 8:00 p.m. at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 9-10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment with military graveside rites will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
