Richard “Dick” Black, 75

Richard “Dick” Black, 75, of Greensburg, passed away on September 6, 2023. He was born on October 8, 1947 in Greensburg, the son of William and Dona (Underhill) Black.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Greensburg High School. He was a Corporal in the United States Marines and served in the Vietnam War. On August 6, 1966, he married Marsha Jean Willis.

He delivered for Muncie Bread for many years. Richard enjoyed music, pulling pranks, and he had a great sense of humor. He was a loyal family man that never failed to help in whatever way he was needed: from picking up groceries, running errands or even paying a bill to help someone in need. He was a member of the Greensburg Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include: Brother and Sisters, Erma (Keith) Moore, Susie (Bill) Wood, Katie (Carl) Lamping, David (Cheryl) Black, Sandy (Jeff) Elsner, and Patsy Kilgore (Gary Moore); Grandsons, Cody Black and Colten Black; Great grandchildren, Samuel, Sophia and Emmett Black; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife; and Son, Rick Black.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 12:00 pm.

At 1:00 pm a brief prayer will be said and then those wishing to will proceed to the South Park Cemetery for Military Honors by the United States Marines and the American Legion Post 129, burial will follow.
