Reds end losing streak at 11 games

St. Louis was set to sweep Cincinnati after taking Friday’s and Saturday’s games at GABP, but the Reds got the lead early Sunday and held it ending the Redlegs losing streak at 11.

On Friday, St. Louis handed Cincinnati a 4-2 defeat  St. Louis.

Cincy starter Hunter Greene did not pitch well.  His velocity was down and his accuracy was off.  He lasted just 3-1/3 innings.  Kyle Farmer and Brandon Drury drove in the Redlegs two runs.

The game ended with the Reds having the tying run at the plate and Drury launching a 400-foot flyout to straight away center for the 27th and final out.

On Saturday, the Reds were held to just three hits by Cardinal pitching in a 5-0 shutout.

Then on Sunday, the Reds finally, finally won a game as they defeated St. Lou 4-1.

Cincy pitcher Nick Lodolo got his first MLB win going 5-2/3 with seven strikeouts and no walks.  Lucas Sims returned from the injury list to get a ninth-inning save.

Colin Moran drove in two runs.  Nick Senzel had two hits and a ribbie while Tyler Naquin doubled home a run.

The Reds have Monday off and will face San Diego Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at GABP.
