(Batesville, IN) – Thursday morning’s rain and thunderstorms forced the City of Batesville to call off the Fourth of July Parade and scheduled activities afterward at Liberty Park.
Organizers say with the strong possibility of lightning at the time of the parade and based on recommendations from Ripley County Emergency Management, the decision was made to cancel it.
Meanwhile, the weather should be fine for the Eureka Band’s first of this month’s concert series tonight at 8 at Batesville’s Liberty Park. The band will play patriotic and American classics.
You’re urged to bring your own lawn chair to the concert because existing seating around the Liberty Park bandstand is limited.
After the concert, you’re encouraged to head toward Hillcrest Golf and Country Club for the return of its firework show.
The event is a collaboration between the city and Hillcrest.
The show will start sometime between 9:30 and 10.
