Connersville, IN – The South Ripley Raiders travelled to Connersville last night to take on the Spartans, looking to stay undefeated as we continue to get later into the season.
The Raiders quickly jumped out to a 20-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, being led by Cole Henry, with 14 points. Fellow senior Blaine Ward also added 6 free throws in Q1.
The second quarter was a little more closely contested, as the Spartans made adjustments as expected. Henry was held scoreless but the Raiders found offense in the form of several players, including Ward, who boosted the success, scoring 7 of their 13 before halftime hit. Raiders lead, 33-20.
Again, Connersville made adjustments coming out of the half, cutting the lead to 9 heading into the 4th quarter, but South Ripley keyed in on the defensive end and held the Spartans to only 6 points in the 4th, leaving no room for any kind of comeback that was brewing.
Leading the way for the Raiders was Cole Henry with 23 points, followed by Blaine Ward with 22 points. Final score, 63-44.
