Raiders 5th Grade Dirt Road Basketball Results

South Ripley and other area youth teams kicked off the 2020 Dirt Road League basketball season this past Sunday afternoon after seeing the November slate canceled due to COVID-19.

The Raider 5th grade fell to Franklin County 21-16 in their first game on Sunday. Eli Gilpin led with five points while Gabe Stone scored 4 points. Other South Ripley scorers included Levi Hunt with 3 points and Abe Speer and Blake Gunter each with 2 points.

South Ripley responded after a sluggish start and looked much more comfortable in a 35-12 win over Lawrenceburg to end the day. The Raiders jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never looked back as seven different players hit the score column. Speer led with 9 points while Gilpin scored 8 points and Stone added 7 points.
