Greensburg traveled to East Central for an EIAC match and fell 6-0.
While the Pirates played the Trojans very tough through the duration of the game, they couldn’t keep up with a very talented 28th ranked (class 3A) East Central offense. Freshman goalkeeper Grayson Newhart played a very great, registering 15 saves. East Central was able to capitalize on some Pirate mistakes in the back line to put 5 goals in the first half.
The Pirates defense tightened a bit and only allowed 1 the rest of the way after the intermission. Greensburg was without senior play-maker Nicholas Zapfe, and it showed, as the Pirates didn’t register a single shot the entire game. Despite the struggles for the offense, Greensburg ended the game with their best finish against East Central in four years.
