Phyllis Rae (Davis) Phipps, age 83 died peacefully Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her home in Harrison, Ohio. Born September 26, 1936 in Barbourville, Kentucky, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Middleton) Davis.
Phyllis, a 1955 graduate of Evarts High School, in Harlan County, Kentucky. Married John Jacob Phipps in Jonesville, Virginia on November 16, 1955.
Survived by her daughter Patti Dawn (Daryl) Hall. Grandmother of Melody Lynn (Dustin) Hartzler, Jaclyn Amber (Sean) Gill, Ashley Lauren (Ryan) Hornback. Great grandmother of Kenley and Kellen Hartzler, Sean Jacob “SJ”, Jackson, Gregory, and Brookelyn Gill. Sister of George Davis and Linda Malakas.
Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Martha Davis, her husband John Jacob Phipps, siblings Wilma Brinkmoeller, Geraldine Grant, Harold Davis, Marcus Davis, Elsie Davis and Edward Davis.
Phyllis worked for Ethicon Endo Surgery, where she made surgical instrument for several years before retiring in 1999.
Visitation will be Friday, August 7, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:30 A.M with Pastor Gene Dietz officiating all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home 215 Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, Kentucky 41097, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
