Phillip Bowling, 67, Batesville

Phillip Anthony Bowling, 67, of Batesville, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Born on September 11, 1957, in Bowlingtown, Kentucky, he was the son of Henry and Nellie Mae Bowling.

If it had an engine, he wanted to fix it or ride it—especially motorcycles. He loved music, spending many days in search of the lost chord on his favorite guitar. While his younger days were filled with nightlife and travel, in his later life he enjoyed peaceful days spent fishing and tinkering with watches, and relaxing evenings watching westerns or talking to his friends and family. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his children, making memories they would always treasure.

Phillip is survived by his daughters, Autumn (Cole Williamson) Bowling and Ashley Bowling; and siblings, Jim (Kathleen) Bowling, Shirley Riley, Jay (Nissy) Bowling, Roger (Kathy) Bowling, Gay Bowling, and Mark Bowling; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephews Carl Henson and Jesse Bowling, and many dear friends.

A celebration of his life will held on September 6, 2025. More details of that celebration will be announced.

In lieu of memorial contributions, the family kindly requests that you consider the gift of organ donation by registering to be a donor at www.organdonor.gov/sign-up. Phillip was given a second chance at life through this generous act, and they hope others will be inspired to carry on his legacy.

Please feel free to leave a memory or message of comfort for Phillip’s family in the online guestbook at www.meyersfuneralhomes.com.
